ACDi was established in 1984 as a printed circuit board (PCB) layout services firm. Typical layout designs were often first run designs, used to build fabrication (or bare board) and assembly prototypes, making the firm a crucial part of the customer's product development cycle. In 2004, ACDi was successful in acquiring Patapsco Designs, Inc., a division of Circuit City stores, as the manufacturing component of the firm. Patapsco had established a reputation for quality in prototype assembly, production assembly and PCB testing. The 65,000 sq. ft. facility was one of the most advanced in the region with investments in top-of-the-line equipment for manufacturing processes.

ACDi now offers PCB layout, quick-turn prototype assembly, high-mix production assembly and various testing services at the 65,000 sq. ft. facility. We have developed a separate and distinct process for prototype assembly to meet the varied needs of our customers. As providers of surface mount technology, through-hole PCB assemblies, cables and box build enclosures, ACDi falls within the specialized class of Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS).
