Or in English, happy St. Patrick’s day.
And in honor of the day, we thought you’d like to share some theories about why the majority of PCB boards are green (which is the solder mask showing through the glass). One theory was that green was the standard for use in U.S. military projects and so the color “stuck”. Another version suggests that the original solder mask resin was green and that it just became the PCB industry de facto standard. One more suggests that the color green has the highest human eye response and that the color/contrast with white stenciling was a major driver.
Whichever theory may be correct (or a combination), we’re happy to celebrate the day with our salute to the color green.
