ACDi kicked off their 2nd Annual North Carolina Charity Golf Tournament at Birchwood County Club to benefit Our Sister’s House on May 1, 2014, raising over $8,000 and bringing their total money raised for this organization to over $13,000.  “We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and assisted us in topping last year’s money raised!” said Kim Boykin, ACDi NC Plant Manager.  Our Sister’s House’s mission is, “to provide effective, comprehensive, and holistic services for women, children, and men who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, support, and education, believing that everyone deserves a violence free life.”   They have been providing services such as a 24-hour Crisis Line, crisis intervention, safety planning, and support groups free of charge since 1981.

“We’re happy we have the opportunity to provide support to this important charity, and to continue ACDi’s efforts of charitable contributions. We could not do it without the help of all those who come out and golf, sponsor, donate and volunteer, and we are very grateful to have everyone’s support,” said Bill Hornbaker, ACDi CEO and President. The start of the charity golf tournament came about six years ago at our Frederick location and headquarters, following many other events and fundraisers for victims of natural disaster and families in need during the Holiday season.   This year’s event included eighteen holes of golf, team pictures, raffles, and a putting contest.

ACDi will be holding their 6th Annual Maryland Charity Golf Tournament on October 3, 2014 at the Clustered Spires Golf Course for anyone interested in participating in a fun event for a great cause.  The proceeds from the Maryland event will go towards St Jude Children’s hospital and Christmas Cash for Kids.  The event is being held in conjunction with The Patty Pollatos Fund.  ACDi has raised funds in excess of $15,000 a piece for these organizations and is looking to make this the best year yet!  Sponsors, donations, players, and volunteers are needed for this event.
