Meet Your Electronics Manufacturing Services Project Manager: Courtney Kolb

How did you begin your career in project management?

I started in 2004 in the retail construction industry. I was managing jobs for architectural products being installed into major retailers, restaurants, and hotels I also have experience managing IT projects including MRP implementations.

What has been the biggest challenge since joining the electronics manufacturing industry?

Before joining ACDi and the printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing industry I had heard rumblings about “computer chip” shortages. I had heard people talk about how getting a new car was virtually impossible because of the “computer chips” being in short supply. In just the short time that I have been in the industry, I have a much clearer understanding of what that actually means. Almost all of the components required to build circuit boards are in short supply. The supply chain challenges we are facing in this industry are nothing like I’ve experienced before. But I never met a challenge that I didn’t look forward to tackling. As a Project Manager at ACDi, we are using creative sourcing and other tools to help our clients get their projects through the electronics manufacturing production process. From redesigning PCB layouts to utilizing platforms like StockCQ.

What do you like most about ACDi so far?

The culture. The people. We are all on the same team doing our best to meet or exceed our customer’s needs and expectations. We also make time for fun like chili cookoffs and company barbeques. I’ve been a part of large corporations in the past where the employee is little more than a name and number. Here at ACDi I’m a name and a person with hobbies and a family and I work with other people with hobbies and families, and we share that with each other. Australia is the favorite place Courtney has traveled to and her most exotic thing to eat was kangaroo.

Courtney earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Cyber/Computer Forensics and Counterterrorism, an Associate of Arts in General Studies and studied abroad at Bond University in Australia.
